Connecting Children to Nature
Today’s children are increasingly disconnected from the natural world. Young people are spending more and more time plugged in to electronics, and less time outdoors learning, playing, and exploring.
For over 30 years, Project Learning Tree has been taking kids outside to learn. We provide teachers with the training, resources, and support they need to get their students outdoors and learning about their local environment. In addition, we’ve adapted many PLT activities for families to use at home to help connect children with nature.
If you’re an educator: • Visit our Every Student Learns Outside website for a collection of stories about educators and their students who use PLT in the outdoors • Read articles written by educators with tips on teaching outside
If you’re a parent or grandparent: • Download our series of “Connecting Kids to Nature” activity pages.
