The American Forest Foundation
The American Forest Foundation (AFF) chartered in 1982, is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that is recognized for its commitment to sustainable forestry, quality environmental education, and wildlife habitat and watershed protection through its programs, the American Tree Farm System, Forests for Watersheds and Wildlife, and Project Learning Tree.
The Foundation's mission is to work for healthy forests, quality environmental education, and to help people make informed decisions about our communities and our world. AFF is supported by grants, individual donations, foundations, government agencies, and corporations.
The Foundation has two fundamental goals.
- To ensure that America's family owned forests continue to provide clean water, fertile soil, quality recreation, homes for wildlife, and wood for products -- not just for this generation, but for all that will follow
- To help young people learn the skills they will need to become responsible environmental decision makers.
