New Book: Wetland Drainage, Restoration, and Repair Learn how to restore wetlands at schools and nature centers that could be used by 30 students at a time for under $2,000.00. Author Tom Biebighauser has built over 985 wetlands across North America and regularly teaches hands-on wetland restoration workshops. The book features his specialty of helping educators build wetlands at schools by using a variety of techniques including synthetic liners to benefit frogs, toads, salamanders, aquatic plants, and endangered species.
World Wetlands Day - February 2, 2008 Free educational materials are available to help you celebrate World Wetlands Day, sponsored by Ramsar Convention. This year, the theme - "Healthy Wetlands, Healthy People" - aims to emphasize that the strong relationship between healthy functioning wetland ecosystems and human health underlines the importance of management strategies that support both the health of wetland ecosystems and the health of humans.
