Exploring Environmental Issues: Focus on Forests
This module uses the forest as a "window" into the natural environment, while it helps students gain an awareness and knowledge of the world around them and of their place within it.

The Changing Forest: Forest Ecology
The activities in this module are designed to encourage students to explore and learn about forest ecosystems through hands-on discovery and experimentation. Their investigations will help them appreciate the diversity of life in forests, understand the interdependencies of such forest life, and develop an awareness of the importance of forests in our daily lives.

Exploring Environmental Issues: Municipal Solid Waste
This module helps youth explore the important and current topic of managing our municipal solid waste (MSW). Both the challenges and solutions of this rather complex subject are addressed, thereby providing students with a fuller understanding of the factors that affect the management of our waste.

Exploring Environmental Issues: Focus on Risk
This module provides formal and nonformal educators with a series of activities to help students learn the rationale for and the mechanics of risk assessment, risk management, and risk communication. The module's activities provide students with a framework through which they can apply scientific processes and higher order thinking skills to environmental issues. By learning the basics of risk, students will be able to apply their knowledge and skills to environmental issues, public policy issues, and personal decisions.

Exploring Environmental Issues: Places We Live
This module provides educators with a useful tool for place-based education to help create a bond between young citizens and their communities. Students explore current and future community environmental issues, enabling them to make informed decisions about those issues.

Global Connections: Forests of the World
This module provides formal and nonformal educators with a series of activities to help students and educators gain an increased understanding and appreciation of the diversity of world forest environments, with an emphasis on the human interaction with and dependence on those environments. The activities provide students with opportunities to apply scientific processes and higher order thinking skills while investigating world forestry issues and conducting service learning action projects.
