Barbara Pitman

We are deeply saddened by the sudden loss of our dear friend and colleague, Barbara Pitman. Barb’s passion for excellence in environmental education touched the lives of all who had the great fortune to know and work with her. She will be sorely missed for her warmth, compassion, and good humor, and for her dedication to the environmental causes about which she cared so deeply.

At the request of Barb’s family, Project Learning Tree has established a Memorial & Legacy Fund to honor her loving memory and to celebrate her decades-long commitment to environmental education. 

Your tax-deductible contribution in Barb’s memory will support PLT’s Outstanding Educator Awards Program which celebrates and honors PLT educators who share Barb’s enthusiasm for environmental education and high educational ideals.
