Current GreenWorks! Grant Awardees

Since 1992, Project Learning Tree has distributed more than $900,000 to fund over 1000 environmental projects in communities across the country.  Elementary, middle, high school and college students are planting trees, designing native plant gardens, restoring streams and riparian habitats, constructing hiking trails, starting composting projects, and investigating alternative sources of energy, among other projects.

  • Fall 2009 GreenWorks! Grants
    33 GreenWorks! grants were awarded to schools and youth organizations in 23 states.

    • - $250 to $1,000 funding category (projects are set for completion by Fall 2011)

    - $1,001 to $5,000 funding category (projects are set for completion by Fall 2012)

  • Spring 2009 GreenWorks! Grants
    34 GreenWorks! grants were awarded to schools and youth organizations in 21 states.

    • - $250 to $1,000 funding category (projects are set for completion by August 2010)

    - $1,001 to $5,000 funding category (projects are set for completion by August 2011)

  • Fall 2008 GreenWorks! Grants
    41 GreenWorks! grants were awarded to schools and youth organizations in 26 states.

    • - $250 to $1,000 funding category (projects are set for completion by Fall 2010)

    - $1,001 to $5,000 funding category (projects are set for completion by Fall 2011)

    MonarchLIVE GreenWorks! Grants
    In addition, 16 GreenWorks! grants to create butterfly gardens were awarded to schools and youth organizations in 11 states. 

  • Spring 2008 GreenWorks! Grants
    24 GreenWorks! grants were awarded to schools and youth organizations in 17 states.  

    - $250 to $1,000 funding category (projects are set for completion by Spring 2009)

    • - $1,001 to $5,000 funding category (projects are set for completion by Spring 2010)

    2008 Esurance GreenWorks! Grants
    In addition, 20 GreenWorks! grants were awarded to schools and youth organizations in five communities where Esurance has office locations.

    HSBC GreenWorks! Grant Awardee
    A grant from HSBC Bank USA transforms a Washington D.C. schoolyard.

    36 GreenWorks! grants were awarded to schools and youth organizations in 23 states.
