Activities to Do With Children at Home

Family doing an indoor student learning activity

With schools around the world temporarily closing to slow the spread of the Coronavirus disease COVID-19, we’ve assembled this list of (free!) PLT family activities that you can do at home—both inside and close-by in a safe space outside. Avoid going stir-crazy during self-quarantines with these simple family activities; they’re the perfect way to keep kids engaged through active participation as they learn about nature, and suggest ways we can lessen our environmental footprint at home and beyond.

Unless otherwise noted, each activity is available to download in both English and en Español.

P.S. Does your home feature green spaces like a front or backyard? Get some fresh air as much as possible to stay healthy. Getting outdoors can help relieve stress, and keep children physically active and learning while out of school.

If your family can go outside and be in a safe space, check out our list of free PLT backyard activities that allow children to discover nature’s diversity just outside your door. Look, listen, and meet your natural neighbors!
